In the 1960s they began creating temporary furniture and architecture, characterized by the use of signs, materials and advanced industrial technologies. They designed and built a series of pneumatic housing structures for the Italian Pavilion at the Osaka World Expo and for the XIV Milan Triennale. In 1972 they participated in the exhibition "Italy: The New Domestic Landscape" at the MoMA in New York. They continued to experiment on "border" planning between architecture and design, through numerous installations, including that for the "Italienische Möbel Design 1950/80" exhibition in Cologne. In 1979 they received the prestigious Compasso d'Oro award. Their works are today preserved in the most important museums in the world. Their production is documented in the historical literature on Italian design and in the main specialized international publications. Along with their design activity, they also carried out important theoretical activity through the Association for Industrial Design. They have collaborated with the Zanotta company since 1966.
